Cameron Newkirk
Corporate Safety Manager
Cameron is our Corporate Safety Manager and has been with Pumford since 2018. He is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist, Firefighter, and Emergency Medical Technician. He holds numerous other certifications to ensure our team provides a positive experience for our employees and clients. Cameron also has experience and knowledge in the industrial and manufacturing industries that contribute to our company safety culture.
“Ask Us” Why We Work Safe
The Pumford Construction “Why We Work Safe” program launched over 10 years ago and is an important part of our company safety culture. Every employee is asked why they work safe and submits a photo that represents their motivation to go home safely each day. Employees are then given a card with their submitted photo to bring with them to jobsites as a reminder of what is important to them. Family, friends, and hobbies flood our “Ask Us” poster showing what makes safety important and personal for all. We encourage our clients and coworkers to “Ask Us Why We Work Safe” so we can share our motivation for working safe every day.
Competent Safety Representative (CSR)
The Competent Safety Representative (CSR) program is another great asset to our safety culture at Pumford Construction. Employees who are knowledgeable in their trade and have a positive impact on our safety culture are selected to be a part of the CSR program. CSR’s are dedicated to jobsites where they are responsible for identifying existing and potential hazardous conditions. The CSR serves as an extra set of safety-conscious eyes on site and is empowered by Pumford Construction to take prompt action to eliminate these hazards.
